SPOTTING THE REAL FROM THE FAKE
OFF DA RECORD BY DTEFLON

I realize this day in age now that when you gain success in your life people will do whatever they can to interfere with your happiness

The friends who you think have your back most will normally talk shit behind your back and hate on u simply because you are where they couldn’t be, and the people who didn’t give a shit …about you before when you were not in the spotlight now go out of their way to exchange pleasantries and even conversation. It still amazes me at times how people can really have no shame/

I reiterate that it isn’t the fact that people are being nice. It’s the fact that by the time they walk away from that conversation those same people will revert back to their usual behavior. being as fake as the smile that they gave you when they approached you.

As much as I try and avoid direct discussions about my personal life, my friends derive much joy out of deciphering the innuendos I manage to sneak in about people I know and the things I have experienced in my time on this earth..

I have seen myself face so many battles from near-death situations being stabbed back in 98 to having a gun pulled on me the job point blank in my face that miss-fired in 2000 and shots that flew by me killing a co-worker and my friend Howard Gairy on Aug 13, 2000, to surviving a near-death health issue in 2009.

My past has most def made me the man I am to be the one people count onto keeping it together as my best Friend Josh Hughes when I was younger committing suicide in front of me on New Year’s Eve back in 94 to losing friends through drugs car crashes and other senseless bs to myself losing my house to the fire in 2004.

I feel like I have lived the life of an 80yr old man..

Sometimes It makes me wonder how I have made it this far without going crazy and at times I have broken down which cause me a lot of health problems over the years… And it seems the only time I am at peace is when I am either on the road in the states with my clients who have become like family to me spending so much time protecting the stars I work for you become more than just a client relationship I see them as they see me at my best and my worst or when I am reading the bible or writing my poetry and editorials of my daily thoughts I do get some peace of mind..

Everyone is probably familiar with the cliched expression that states, you only have one chance to make a first impression.

Well, like many clichés there is much truth to the statement. Yet, besides the veracity of the expression, First Impressions often have their importance understated.

We all have made mistakes in our lives and no one likes being put under a microscope I am man enough to admit when I make my mistakes and have made plenty in my life but I learn from them and move on…

We all understand that perception all too often has little to do with reality, but when people only have the perception to make judgments or decisions about you, then guess where the majority of that judgment is formulated?

Everything in your life is covered, at one time or another, by a first impression. Interviewing for school or employment, dating, and your socialization are all predicated on the first impression that you make on others. This is not to say that you are not afforded additional opportunities to impress or at least represent yourself more accurately, but if the first impression is unfavorable there likely is not a second opportunity.

It sounds harsh but thinks about it. We are not all on one side of the judgment spectrum. I hear myself like I hear some of you saying that we don’t judge others.

Perhaps not in the literal or biblical sense you do not, but we all formulate opinions and make judgments for decisions.

The majority of those judgments are on superficial matters, but when you meet a guy or girl you immediately place them in a category based on those first impressions. It is not fair for me to say, but it is reality.

I have got it and that is the part that we all as entertainers in this biz have to deal with which is why most do their best to stay out of the spotlight

Many of us have adopted the anti-establishment attitude of not caring what anyone thinks of us.

THAT’S MY WORD AND IT’S SIMPLY OFF DA RECORD
